Members meeting - May

The May club meeting will feature a panel discussion on the topic of Student Angling. The panel will include both coaches and student anglers from local high school fishing teams. The past half dozen years have seen a huge growth in student angling in our region with current and former student anglers making a splash on the professional level in both walleye and bass tournaments. A former Minnesota high school student angler won the Bassmaster Classic earlier this year!

The student angler panel will share some of the history of the student angler movement, what has made it so popular, and where it may go from here. Learn first-hand from the student anglers themselves what makes participating in student angling so exciting and fun. And hear from coaches of these teams about what it takes to get these young anglers on the water and provide an educational opportunity within a competitive event.

The panel is excited to share with FM Walleyes Unlimited, a huge influencer and supporter of youth and student angling, what student angling in the region is all about. They look forward to answering questions from the audience and sharing their insight and experiences.

All meetings are free to the general public. Membership dues are encouraged - only $25.
